  • HOUSEWARMING PARTY! – YOU’RE INVITED

    Friends,

The day has finally come: we officially have a public-facing space for Junior Jr. Riso. After years of working out of the spare room in Kacey’s apartment, the chance to share a beautiful space with Devon Gray, an amazing jeweler and ceramicist, came up and we jumped on it.

It’s always been a goal of ours to have a physical space where we can meet with folks to make prints, host pop-ups and classes, and just generally build a cozy little community of artists and art enthusiasts. So when the opportunity for us to have a space arose, we were so excited to go for it.

It’s a big, scary, exciting thing to do, and we couldn’t even consider it without all the amazing people that we work with – print clients, zinesters who attend Kentuckiana Zine Fest each year, and many many friends.

So with that said, we want to invite you to a pop-up event on Sunday, Sept. 28 from 2-5 pm at our new space: 804 Broadway St. Louisville, KY. There will be riso printing, live portrait drawing, and goods for sale, including Devon’s handmade jewelry. We hope to see you there. ❤

  • ZINE FEST WAS AWESOME

    Hi All,

Sorry for the silence. The 4th Annual Kentuckiana ZineFest went down this past Saturday and we worked our butts off leading up to it! On top of ZineFest prep, we printed for ourselves, each other, printed another full book for Derby City Midnight, printed for our friend Taylor Jesse who made his first zine ready for KZF, printed for our guest artist (more soon) and finally our poster artist contest winner. Our girl Junior stayed printing.

If you had the chance to stop by, thank you for coming. If you weren’t able to make it, thank you for your continued patron support. Kathryn and I’s shared goal of sharing art and creating opportunities for our artist community is continually met thanks to you.

ZineFest is a big deal to us and as we learned this past weekend, our zine community. We had tons of new artists sharing their work, some from as far away as Nashville, Tennessee. This year we upped the event hours from 2 to 4 and the crowd was steady the entire time. We were featured in the newspaper and throughout the city as an event to not miss!

Each year we are knocking out goals and setting our bar higher for the next time we get to pull this event off. We are already scheming for next year but for this week, we will rest. Check out our reels and other posts on Instagram @juniorjr.riso

    Thank you for being here.

    More soon.
    Kacey 🙂
